Townsville (Qld), Mandurah (WA)
With the
scratching of our best of the day, we may have found another one in the same
race more than worth following at Kyneton today.
It’s a big
10-race card on a dead (4) at the picturesque Victorian provincial track and
we’d pegged the lightly-raced He’snotthemessiah in the Jay Bourke Memorial (68)
Hcp over 1887m as our tip.
Instead,
we’ve settled on #1 Adjuster, which is coming off a gutsy run in the heavy at Mornington last start. Having finished second at three of
his last five starts, the 3yo Byron Cozamanis charge has shown great
improvement since being gelded in December.
Suggested bet: Kyneton R9 #1 Adjuster (E/W two units) WIN $3.10/$1.50

MLB for
April 16
Washington
Nationals @ Miami Marlins, Marlins Park, Miami, FL, Tuesday, April 16, 9.10am
The Washington
Nationals were just swept for the first time this season. Facing a Miami
Marlins team they nearly shut out three times to open the season could help the
Nationals get back on track.
The
Marlins have scored a Major League worst 20 total runs in 12 games, and keep in
mind that Miami scored seven runs in a win over the New York Mets, meaning that
it has a total of 13 runs in the other 11 games for a dismal average of 1.18
runs per game.
Nationals
pitcher Jordan Zimmermann gets the start for the visitors – he’s off to another
fine start with wins over these Marlins and the Chicago White Sox last Thursday.
Suggested
bet: Nationals -1.5 (three units) WIN

NHL for
April 16
New Jersey
Devils @ Toronto Maple Leafs, Air Canada Centre, Toronto, Ontario, Canada, Tuesday,
April 16, 9am
This could
be the season the Toronto Maple Leafs end the longest playoff drought in the
NHL. It could also be just the second time in 13 years that the New Jersey
Devils fail to advance to the postseason. Toronto goes for a sweep of the
season series here while the Devils try to avoid a team record-tying 10th
straight defeat.
The Devils
(15-16-10) desperately need someone to get hot offensively. New Jersey has tallied
16 goals since its last victory, 2-1 over Florida on March 23. Meanwhile, Toronto
scored four times on its first five shots and defeated Montreal 5-1 on Sunday.
We’re looking for the home side to dominate here, with the puck-line looking
attractive.
Suggested
bet: Maple Leafs -1.5 (two units) WIN

NBA for
April 16
Miami Heat
@ Cleveland Cavaliers, Quicken Loans Arena, Cleveland, OH, Tuesday, April 16,
8.40am
The Miami
Heat have done everything they needed to do to claim home-court advantage
throughout the playoffs, set single-season franchise records and can even scout
their first-round opponent, the Milwaukee Bucks.
The last
thing they need to do is stay healthy for their final two games, so a makeshift
line-up is assured when they visit the Cleveland Cavaliers. That means no
James, no Wade and no Bosh.
Cleveland
(24-56) is familiar playing short-handed – Anderson
Varejao has been sidelined most of the season while rookie Dion Waiters
and Kyrie Irving
have missed significant chunks of time due to injuries – and hopes to finish its
season on a positive note.
Suggested
bet: Cavaliers WIN (three units) LOSE
